The Protocols of the Learned Elders of the AJC

This is a photo of the American Jewish Committee, apparently taken on August 16, 1918, and an undated painting based on the photograph with a few obvious amendments i.e. the rabbi on the left has turned into Louis Marshall, Isadore Hershfield has materialised behind him, and a globe, perhaps signifying their ambitions has appeared. Click here for an enlarged version, here for a run-down on who's who, and here for details of the painting.

"In the year 1840 an Israelite Council was called together at Cracow. This was a sort of an Ecumenical Council, wherein the most prominent men of the "chosen people" sat for consultation. The object of their meeting was to discover the proper means whereby to secure triumphs to Judaism in its extension from the North Pole to the South Pole."
