In 1945 Rabbi Samuel Schulman (1864 - 1955) an anti-Zionist reform rabbi,
who nevertheless joined the Zionist Jewish Agency in 1929, gave a speech at
the centenary celebrations of the Congregation Emanu-El. His speech was
entitled: The Significance of Israel and Judaism for a New World-Order.
