Circumcisions in the queue for the gas chambers

David Olère, Le crématoire III en activité  from the Yad Veshem Art Museum in Jerusalem. Olère's painting is reproduced without permission
from Serge Klarsfeld ed., David Olère: A Painter in the Sonderkommando at Auschwitz (New York: The Beate Klarsfeld Foundation, 1989).

Jews were apparently circumcising their sons on the trains to Auschwitz, and at Auschwitz,
with an SS man's knife, just before the son was gassed. Whether the Jews performed
the well documented Kabbalistic ritual of eating the foreskin, is unknown.
