Shimon Srebnik (1930 - 2006) former Chelmno sonderkommando
According to Claude Lanzman's 1985 documentary Shoah, Shimon Srebnik was one
of just two survivors of Nazi Death Camp Chelmno. Srebnik (then aged just 13).
was forced by the Nazis to partake in the execution of 400,000 Jews in gas vans.
Srebnik states the Nazis kept him alive due to his ability to win
jumping contests, speed races, and his beautiful singing voice.
Srebnik testified at the 1961 Eichmann trial, here he gives details
on how he survived being shot in the back of the neck at
point-blank-range, when the bullet came out of his mouth.
