Professor Deborah Lipstadt states in her 1993 book:
Beyond Belief: The American Press & the Coming of the Holocaust, 1933-1945
4,000,000 people were killed at Auschwitz
"Of the approximately 4 million people
killed at Auschwitz a
minimum of 2 million were Jews.
All of them were
citizens
of various European countries, but they were killed as Jews."
Bizarrely, this book was published 3 years after the Auschwitz
death toll was officially lowered from 4,000,000 to 1,100,000
